Selected Wood Quality
RUKU1952®: We only use selected kiln-dried spruce wood, which is extremely warp-resistant and has minimal knot inclusions. Our wood is sanded during gluing, knot holes are filled, and the drill holes of the frame are cleanly countersunk into the wooden panels. Our beer tent sets consist of rounded 29mm bench panels and rounded 24mm table panels.
Hardware store: Conversely, the selection of wood slats at the competition was not as stringent. The table and bench panels in hardware store quality have a thickness of 20mm.

RUKU1952®: Stacking ledges in the closed state allow for clean stacking without bending or scratching the frame. Our stacking ledges are thicker and are screwed and glued from the back.
Hardware store: The stacking ledges from the hardware store are narrower, distinctly indicating a difference in wood thickness.

Practical Base Frame
RUKU1952®: Robust, drawn flat steel serves as the frame material for the RUKU1952® beer garden table set. The specially patented C-profile of the base frame increases stability by up to 20% compared to conventional underframes. Moreover, additional stiffening ribs in the cross struts further enhance stability, and the weld seam at the corners of the underframe closes the edges of the individual bent parts. The perforation of the standing surface allows for attaching plastic sliders to prevent scratching sensitive floors.
Hardware store: In comparison, the base frames of the hardware store set is much thinner. The thickness indicates cost-saving on materials, resulting in less torsional rigidity compared to RUKU1952®, and the underframe has sharp edges.

Folding Mechanism With Folding Furniture Lock
RUKU1952®: A crucial indication of a beer garden table set is the folding furniture lock. The fully galvanised lock was invented by Rudolf Kurz, the founder of RUKU, ensuring secure hold. Additionally, the return springs are individually checked on each set.
Hardware store: On the hardware store product, we find a smaller lever or a smaller mechanism. The lateral guidance and stability are lacking compared to a RUKU1952® beer garden table set.

Certifications and Classifications
RUKU1952®: Another hallmark of brewery quality is the TÜV stamp or TÜV certification of our beer garden table sets. This ensures they are manufactured under the strictest safety and quality measures and have a certain resistance to breakage. The second stamp represents the Firelock® UV varnish. The varnish has been classified as "difficult to ignite" according to DIN 4102 B1 fire protection testing, meaning the beer table sets have a three-layer UV nano varnish that is not only fire-retardant, but also solvent-free, environmentally friendly, and food-safe. RUKU1952® sets are better protected against sun and rain compared to conventional sets.
